Enhanced user interface + Serial Valid.= PIDTemplate bug?

Hi,

I'm using Advanced Installer Enterprise 7.5, and i've come across a bug (i think) where when i use "Use Enhanced user interface" option plus "Serial Validation" with a template, the serial template (PIDTemplate) does not work, it only shows a normal edit box, instead of a customized "templated" masked edit box.

Why is this happening? I really need it to work.

PS: This also happens in the previous version of Advanced Installer.

Thanks,
Lalex

Re: Enhanced user interface + Serial Valid.= PIDTemplate bug?

Hello,

This is not a bug. The implementation on the Enhanced User Interface is different from Windows Installer's. The serial key needs to be input in the field as it is generated on the serial validation page, including the '-'. We may choose to modify the implementation in the future, however the current implementation is fully functional.

Best regards,
Gabriel

Re: Enhanced user interface + Serial Valid.= PIDTemplate bug

Hello,

I Have some issue with this.

When I set up on "Licensing" page serial number <####-####-####-####> (Algorithm verified) and Enhanced user interface, UserRegistrationDlg pass SN without "-" but second test before installing shows SN Error.

Hello and welcome to Advanced Installer forums,

Thank you for your interest in Advanced Installer.

Please keep in mind this is the default behavior when you are using our "Enhanced User Interface" feature. As my coleague mentioned in the previous post the serial key needs to be input in the field as it is generated on the "Licensing" page, including the '-' character.

All the best,
Daniel

Re: Enhanced user interface + Serial Valid.= PIDTemplate bug

Hello,

Yes I understand but it is not true. As I wrote, when I write SN without "-" (dash) it is accepted even if on the License page i define <####-####-####-####>. Scarcely before installing when is second checking Error appears.

Sorry for my EN;)
