Licensed AI still shows trial pop up

We were testing AI as part of an automated build process running it as command line commands. We were happy with the results and purchased a Professional license. We went through the process registering the install of AI on the build server with the license key sent to us but when the installer is run it still shows the "This package was created with a trial version of Advanced Installer." warning before installing. We are ready to deploy our project with the AI built installers using the licensed version of AI, but we need to get rid of the the "this is a trial" warning pop up. Please help.

Re: Licensed AI still shows trial pop up

Hi Justin,

Thank you for registering Advanced Installer.

Please note that the license file is stored by Advanced Installer in a per-user location. This means that you can log in from one user account and on the other accounts from the machine the license will not be visible.

I assume you are using a separate account for the build server, in this case you need to register Advanced Installer on this account too.

If this is a system account, without GUI, you can copy the license file directly to this location:

"Caphyon\Advanced Installer" subfolder of the "Local Settings" directory located under the user profile folder.

On older systems this folder is: "C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Local Settings\Application Data\Caphyon\Advanced Installer". On Windows Vista, the folder is "C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Caphyon\Advanced Installer".

Note that this folder may not exist so you will need to create it manually.

You can copy the license file from the same machine, but on the user account files where Advanced Installer is registered.

Re: Licensed AI still shows trial pop up

We solved the problem by uninstalling AI, installing it for a specific user set up for the automated build, and registered it under that user.

Re: Licensed AI still shows trial pop up

I guess our fix was only temporary. The dialog that says the installer was built with a trial version of AI is being displayed when the installer is run again. The account set up for the automated build does have a "license80.dat" file in "AppData\Local\Caphyon\Advanced Installer".

Re: Licensed AI still shows trial pop up

Hi,

Please note that these messages could appear from old installers, if they are upgrade automatically by the new one. Make sure all the
old versions are removed.

A trial message cannot appear randomly in a package, it is either all the time or it not at all.
