Advanced Installer cannot be loaded

This morning advanced intaller notified their was a newer version.
I let it download and install it. But now i can't open my project files.
It apears that the version numbers in the project file is 8.2 but the program expects 8.1.3.
After editing it in the .aip file, advanced installer was willing to open the project file.

Re: Advanced Installer cannot be loaded

Hello,

Usually Advanced Installer will not load a project designed with a newer version( "This project was designed with a newer version 8.2" error ) with an older version, but not the other way around. If you load a project designed with an older version( e.g 8.1.3 ) with the new version ( e.g 8.2 ), it should load normally.
It apears that the version numbers in the project file is 8.2 but the program expects 8.1.3.
Can you please specify the error or warning you were getting when opening your 8.1.3 .AIP with version 8.2? Also, can you please send us the original and modified .AIPs (projects) to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can further investigate them?
After editing it in the .aip file, advanced installer was willing to open the project file.
By this do you mean you modified the CreateVersion and version attributes using a text editor? If so, please note that manually editing the .AIP file is not recommended as it would lead to later unwanted and untraceable issues.

All the best,
Mihai
