AI_RecycleBin Folder Remains After Uninstall

After successfully completing an Uninstall, there is one folder left behind named AI_RecyleBin. Within this folder are other folders that have names that look like GUIDs. Each of these subfolders are empty.

The folder in which the AI_RecycleBin folder remains has a File Removal action attached to it.

How do I get rid of the AI_RecycleBin folder.

Re: AI_RecycleBin Folder Remains After Uninstall

Hi,

Can you please send us a sample project so we can try to reproduce this on our machines too, at support at advancedinstaller dot com? Also, what are your machine's specifications, i.e. OS,
language. Do you have any permissions set on the parent folder of "AI_RecycleBin" folder?

The problem does not seem to be related to the OS version. It occurs on XP, Server 2008 and Windows 7. There are no special permissions on the parent folder.

Do you want just the .aip file or do you want the compiled installer?

The AI_RecycleBin folder actually gets created on install, not on uninstall.

Re: AI_RecycleBin Folder Remains After Uninstall

Hello,

To test this, we need a sample .AIP with dummy files so we can build and replicate the issue. If we cannot replicate this behavior this way, we will also need the built package.

All the best,
Mihai
