Is there a process for controlling the number of times a program will install from a CD.

Hi,

I don't know if i understand correctly. But if your package is a msi one then the windows installer will inform you that the package is already installed.

If i don't understand correctly please give me more details.

Regards,
Gigi

In the process of packaging a software solution for distribution, can I build a file (script) in Advanced Installer that will allow the CD (media) two install only to times on the target machine?

Hi,

I don't understand why you need to do this. Why your package can be installed only two times on the target computer?

Gigi

This is a retail purchase of a database solution and I want to make sure that the owner of the CD can only install the product on two machines.

You say that your software after is installed on two machines cannot be installed on another one. I don't think that this can be done.

Unless his software is written to require activation, I too don't see how that can be controlled.

Cheers,
