Select Install Parameters Page
In Properties section Press New
Name=DownloadURL, Value=http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... NT5/EN-US/
Select Product Definition / Media
Select the Prerequisite Tab
Add: DirectX (for example)
In the URL enter: [DownloadURL]DX81NTeng.exe
Create an instalation and run it. If Prerequisite DirectX is requirted an error message appears:
"Some prerequisites could not be downloaded. You can try again or remove them from the prerequisites list".
The prerequisites list shows:
[DownloadURL]DX81NTeng.exe
Which means that the attribute name DownloadURL was not interpreted.
The request is that attributes name will be interpreted in the URL/File field of the Prerequisite list.

The URL/File field for prerequisites does not support formatted strings. But in a future release will be available the "Pseudo Formated Fields". A pseudo formated field is a text that is processed before build.
