Error and cannot install

On one users computer I cannot install using advanced installer and get this error message:

Could not write value to key \Software\Classes\Aspose.Email.Exchange.Schema.Rule Type\CLSID. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

Any ideas how to fix this?

I am logged in with admin priveleges and this is a Windows XP computer.

I am also getting a similar error on a Windows 7 computer:

Could not write value Assembly to key \Software\Classes\CLSID\{D4D4820C-F99B-35A0-A1FB-932119D0C4E1}\InprocServer32\5.0.5.0. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

Re: Error and cannot install

Hello,

Does this behavior manifest on all Windows XP and Windows 7 machines with similar configuration, or is it just the two?

If this occurs only on the two machines then there must be something wrong on those particular machines. We recommend you try the package on different clean machines and isolate a reproducible test case scenario. This way we can recreate the circumstances, replicate and investigate the reason.

All the best,
Mihai

Re: Error and cannot install

Dear All,

We had the same problem throughout several years, quite seldomly and not reproducible on our own PC's.
It occurred on XP, XP64 and Windows 7 computers.

Now it turned up again this morning with an important customer of ours. The user is local admin and uses Win7Pro 64Bit.

He de-installed a package built with Adanced Installer and immediately tried to re-install it.

In the middle of the registration process he got the message:
Could not write value Assembly to key
\Software\Classes\CLSID\{04D21A7C-9111-3F87-AE06-1C65DB2C3663}\I
nprocServer32\4.0.0.0. Verify that you have sufficient access to that
key, or contact your support personnel.

I would like to finally tackle this problem.

Yours, Mathias

Re: Error and cannot install

Hi Matthias,

From what I understand the user received the error message while installing the same package that he had just removed from the machine? Has the user
tried to restart the machine and then install the package again?

Also, can you please send us a verbose log created on the machine where the error occurs and the aip file that you using to create the package to support at advancedinstaller dot com?

Regards,
Bogdan
