RemoveExistingProducts

Hello guys,
I'll start congratulating you for the great job you did with this Advanced Installer, especially since I am Romanian too. My company bought this a short while ago and we are kinda new guys in town. Every developer used different products to generate installation programs. Now since we adopted a common tool we faced a little problem: is there an easy way, provided by the Advanced Installer, to uninstall a previously version of an application, before the installation of the newer one starts?
I can see under 'Show Standard Action -> Before Initialization' a list of predifined actions but no way to set them. I'd like to enlight us on this matter.
I browsed the existing posts and I couldn't find something to help. If I missed it, I apologise.
Thank you and keep up the great work.

Hi Catalin,

If the previously application is packaged with Advanced Installer then the uninstall process is done automatically. This assumes that both packages are created starting from the same AIP file (use "Save As" option) and when you increase the version (for the second package) accept to generate a new product code.

If the previously application is not created by AI but it is a msi package then here is a post about this:

If the previously application is not created by AI and it is not a msi package then please see this:

Those are windows installer standard actions and are always executed. You can schedule you custom actions under those standard actions. For more details about custom actions please see this:

If you encounter any problem or you what more details please let me know.

Gigi
