Customise Trial Dialog Strings

Hi

Following some timely help from Bogdan I noticed that some of the strings that form the text on the three buttons (Trial, Register and Buy) in the trial dialog are already in part made up of AI properties. Would it be possible to have these entirely property derived, with thse strings being editable on the licence page of AI itself. This would allow us to add specific instructions (eg in the Register button one might have 'You must be logged on as an Administrator to register) when one knows for example that one needs to write to the local machine hive of the registry.

This I think would make a nice addition. It would also be nice to be able to have a similarly customisable string on the actaul Registration dialog itself (the one in the illustration attached) so that it could be made clear that people need to actually click the link in Blue to send an e mail to allow the licence to be created with the specific machine info needed. This might also allow us to request they supply a name foe example that we could add to say who the program is registered to (another custom licence field) so that we could procude a <Application> registered to <name> type of line in an about box.

Re: Customise Trial Dialog Strings

Hi Dom,

Thank you for your suggestions.

Regarding the customizable texts, currently we store them in a dictionary text which you can easily edit into a UTF-8 capable editor, like Notepad++.

The dictionary file has the name "ui_en.ail" and you can find it in our "dictionaries" sub-folder from the main install folder of Advanced Installer.

Re: Customise Trial Dialog Strings

Hi Bogdan,

Our company has the Enterprise edition - may I ask if there are improvements for this request and if there's any ETA?

And I just noticed that the Trial dialog will display a different kind of window for 32bit and 64bit OS - is there a way to make this consistent?
For example I want to use the dialog displayed for 32bit on 64bit OS because 64bit OS is backward compatible anyways (can run 32bit apps)
- I prefer the 32bit one because it's a lot more consistent - there's a Try, Register, Buy in the initial window.

Hoping for your response,
Bogdan

Re: Customise Trial Dialog Strings

Hi,

I'm afraid a predefined dialog editor has not been built for the licensing library. For now you can customize the dialog by directly editing our
fragments and dictionaries, as mentioned here or in the following related topic.

The dialog should look the same on both 32 and 64 bit OS-es. Can you send us a screenshot with the two dialogs to see what you see?
Also, checkout this thread, maybe you have the same problem.

Bogdan
