No roaming profile available when install via GPO?

Hi!

I've done simple installs (.msi) with AI for some time but now have a project where the msi is run via GPO. And I'm not a network technician.
So this installtion drops templates and a Word add-in (.dotm) in specific folders under Application Data (the AppData Roaming profile). As simple as that. The .msi-file works well if you run it manually.

But it doesn't work when distributing with GPO.

It seems no files are copied. The technician deploying the package thought it may be that the Roaming profile is not available when the GPO tries to install.

Is there any simple setting I'm missing for this to work or perhaps another way to do this properly?

I'm using the professional version and I've set it to "per machine if user is admin, per-user otherwise" and the type is simple. No registry settings.

Hope anyone has some advice!
kind regards, Christian

You can follow our GPO tutorial. It covers most required settings.

All the best,

Re: No roaming profile available when install via GPO?

Thank you Mihai!

We haven't solved the problem yet so for now there will have to be a temporary solution.
If we figure this one out I'll report back. In the meantime any other suggestion is welcome.

Thanks!
