File:// path for local network URL prerequisite

Hi, I've been struggling with this and I'm about to rip my hair out. In the older versions of AI I was able use the following path to point to a prerequisite: file://\\myserver\somefolder\someprereq.msi

We have prerequisites that we store in-house on a network server. Rather than having to compile them with the install package or download them from the internet (this software is only used in-house), it makes more sense for us to do it this way. Did something change in one of the last few updates as far as the syntax for a file URL? I now always get an error that says "System cannot find the file specified". I have checked EVERYTHING. The path is definitely correct and it fails on all machines that I try it on. If you could please give me some insight into this issue I would greatly appreciate it. This is a semi-emergency and the faster I can find a solution the better.

Here is an update to my last posting. It appears that file:// only works if you place the prerequisite run under the pre-install section. If I put under the feature-based or post-install packages that is when I receive that error. Do those sections not have access to the file system or what? Or am I missing the boat somewhere here?

Indeed, this seems to be caused by a bug in Advanced Installer. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. I added it on our TODO list and we'll investigate the reason.

Yeah Scott, no problem. I'll keep you posted on this thread once the dev team gets a chance to investigate and fix.

The fix will most probably be included in the next release after the undergoing one.
