Installing Thousands of Files is Too Slow

We're installing files to our clients as a periodic update. One of the sub-directories that we ship contains approximately 7000 graphics files, most of which are overwriting previous files. It appears that the inclusion of these files really slows down the window, appearing to freeze on our "Ready to Install" screen (there isn't a progress bar on this screen). When that happens, all h*ll  breaks loose when our clients start clicking and trying to cancel out of the program. Yes, lots can be told them about being patient, but this is reality. With other installers, I've managed to create self-extracting zip files that work around this issue. Is there a recommended way to accomplish what we're trying to do?

Looking for ideas. We're on Professional.
Thanks, herb

Re: Installing Thousands of Files is Too Slow

Hello and welcome to Advanced Installer forums,

You'll have to share more information with us like how much it takes to install those files, aprox. file's size, other archiving settings, etc.
Also, can you please send us the .AIP (project file) to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can see what you mean?

All the best,
Mihai
