No way to "simulate" end user "YES / NO"

Hi Cata

I cant seem to find a way to do the foolowing, and it seems something of a major over sight if its missing from the functions of Advanced Installer

I want to run ceratin standard EXE installers like Acrobat Reader and MS Word Viewer whch require very basic key pressed like ENTER and YES and NO from the user to proceed.

How do I do this? These cutom actions Ive read about/ Ive read and printed out the help files but theres little or no help on how it can be used to do this.

If it cant then I have to admit I wont be able to use this as an installation package! :(

Do let me know as soon as possible.

Kind Regards

Dom

Hi Dom,

Unless those setups have some sort of command line switch for silent installs, I am afraid this won't be possible with AI.

The main problem is such install packages (the one for Acroread or Word Viewer) were not engineered for silent redistribution. They were ment for interactive installs.

Windows Installer has a mechanism for including 3rd party products in installations, called Merge Modules. But authors of those products need to create and distribute these modules.

Anyway, I will try to find a better solution for the future.

Best regards,
Cata
