Dialog layout in localized installers

Hi:

Doing the testing on localization for Advanced Installers with localization using the classic theme, we find out weird behaviors like:

-In Danish, Spanish and German the layout of the installer changes for the FilesInUse dialog, the dialog becomes small and removes the banner image, this does not match the one shown at the Dialogs section.

-Between languages (say Finish, French, Italian) the window frame picks different Aero themes (Win7) and color window (Win8) when the computer have no changed the theme configuration, is this a bug?

Re: Dialog layout in localized installers

Hello,

I've tested your scenario, but I cannot reproduce the behavior. Can you attach a sample which reproduces the behavior or can you give us a detailed step by step test case scenario so we can try to reproduce and investigate this?

All the best,
Daniel

Re: Dialog layout in localized installers

This seems to be fixed on version 9.8.

However the exe wrapper dialogs have issues at:
  • The extracting dialog still behaves weird since it displays the correct language (Extracting the main application files) when the computer is clean (not installed previously) but when launching again to do maintenance tasks it displays always in English.
  • The last dialog of the ex wrapper (Deleting files) after you click Finish is always in English.

Hello,

I'm not sure why this happens. Can you please send us the .AIP (project file) and a verbose log of the installation to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate them?
The last dialog of the ex wrapper (Deleting files) after you click Finish is always in English.
Indeed, this is an Advanced Installer limitation. The related dialog was recently added in Advanced Installer and it is not localized. However, we'll try to add localization support for it in a future version of Advanced Installer. Thank you for your understanding.

All the best,
