Prev version not supported

Hi all!

I was using licensed version of Advanced Installer 2.4.1 and today i've downloaded version 4.7.2 and tried to open an .aip file(i.e. a project file which was build using old version) from new version it gives an error and doesn't open the file.

This new version shows that my license will expire on 4-Mar-07.

Wat could be the problem?

Any suggestion/help will be appreciated.

Regards,

Zia

Hi Zia,

Here is what you need to do:

First make a back-up of the AIP file. Now open the AIP file with a TEXT editor and "Search and Replace" the text "Readme.txt" with "Readme.txt2" (make sure you use Case Sensitive for the search). Also when "FileName=Readme.txt" text is reached ignore it because this is the name of the file.

Let me know if this solves the problem.

Gigi

Prev version not supported

Hi Gigi!

Thanks a lot for ur quick response. I did whatever u've asked me to do.
After renaming readme.txt to readme.txt2, it again gives exception for another key as it was giving for readme.txt. There are number of keys, so, will i have to rename all duplicate keys?

I've made this AIP file using ur product's prev. version and it is not supported to new version. Sory to say, but, don't U think there is a bug in ur product that it doesn't support older versions.

Hi Zia,

The issue you encounter if due to an old bug of Advanced Installer (already fixed). To fix your project you need to do exactly as in my previous post for all duplicate keys.

Let me know if you encounter any problems.
