registering ocx in windows 7 versus 8

I am using vsview8.ocx in a .net program. If I uncheck the Autoregister box under properties>registration, It installs correctly in Windows 7 but in windows 8 give me a classnotreg error. If I check the Autoregister box, it install perfectly in Windows 8 but windows 7 gives me a 'failed to register errror'. Any help appreciated.

Re: registering ocx in windows 7 versus 8

Another bit of information I forgot to post. Windows 8 is 64 bit and Windows 7 is 32 bit. Have both 32 and 64 bit versions of vsprint8.ocx. Not sure how to specify which to install.

Re: registering ocx in windows 7 versus 8

Hello,

In order to achieve what you want you can add both versions (32 and 64-bit) of your .ocx file in "Files and Folders" page and install them as it is explained in our "Install files with the same name" article. Also, you should install the above files components based on the Windows OS type (32-bit or 64-bit).

Let us know if this helped, otherwise please give us more details about your scenario.

All the best,
Daniel
