AI 10.9 launching Java App via a URL

Hi,

Can the Advanced Installer 10.9 Mac Java app bundle creation be used with Apple Launch Services to allow the application to be invoked via a custom URL scheme in Safari?

Re: AI 10.9 launching Java App via a URL

Hello Robert and welcome to Advanced Installer forums,

Thank you for your interest in Advanced Installer.

I'm not sure what is the procedure for installing an Apple Launch Services, but you can enable the "No Dock icon and no Menu Bar interaction" option from "Java Products page -> Mac OS X tab" and see if this helps. Also, if you need to specify any other Mac OS X application properties (than the ones from our "MAC OS X tab") you can use the "More Options" hyperlink -> MacOS Java Launcher Properties dialog.

Let us know if this helped, otherwise please give us more details about what you are trying to achieve.

All the best,
Daniel

Thanks for your reply. I resolved my original problem successfully and have managed to get Apple Launch Services to integrate successfully via Apple Java Extensions - my problems were caused by a bug in the JDK itself which is fixed in the latest release.

I now have a further question: Can Advanced Installer sign the Mac OS app bundle it produces using my Apple Developer ID, so that OS X Gatekeeper will allow it as a signed application? Or is this something I will have to do as a separate step on the Mac?

You're welcome. I'm glad you got this working.

I'm afraid we don't have support for this. You will have to sign the package on MAC.

All the best,
