Imported dictionary for Bootstrapper

Hello,

I'm working on filling in the dictionary for the Kazakh language, but I don't see any strings related to the bootstrapper and installing prerequisites. Where can I find a dictionary to modify for the bootstrapper?

Thanks,

Brandon

Re: Imported dictionary for Bootstrapper

Hello Brandon,

I'm afraid that the strings used by the bootstrapper cannot be modified. Since the prerequisites wizard is shown by the EXE bootstrapper the related strings cannot be changed, you cannot modify the text shown in the wizard.

Although it is strongly NOT recommended, some changes can be made in the resources used by Advanced Installer. E.g. setup-res.dll from the installation folder of Advanced Installer, by default it is C:\Program Files (x86)\Caphyon\Advanced Installer 10.5.2\stubs\res.
Before making any changes, you should back up first the related resources. Also, if something goes wrong you can uninstall Advanced Installer and then reinstall it. Please make sure that all the resources are removed after the uninstall.

If there is anything else I can help with, please let me know.

Best regards,
Dan

Thanks for the answer. I'll add a post for this in the Feature Request forums. If you can add custom translations for the MSI, I really would have expected to do the same for the bootstrapper.
