Hi
A generated MSI file, when run to uninstall a product, doesn't say what the product is that is being uninstalled, you just get a generic question "Do you want to uninstall this product" with space above the text that might be used to indicate the product name. It is better to confirm to the user which application they are about to uninstall.
I am referrring to the free version, is this something that is included in a paid-for version?

Hi Martin,
Are you uninstalling the package through the Uninstall shortcut? If so, the user should now what he is uninstalling. Also, this dialog is shown by Windows Installer and unfortunately it cannot be modified.

Yes, I was using the shortcut and although you only get to that by going through the Start menu, it is possible to slip with the mouse and select the wrong item. I guess anyone should take the safe option and cancel at that stage if they are not sure, but I was just hoping that it was possible to pass the Windows Uninstaller a string stating what was being uninstalled. I was hoping that the blank area of the dialog was reserved for such a purpose but AdvancedInstaller wasn't setting it. I suppose its down to Microsoft to improve the uninstaller - maybe in Windows 7?

I'm not sure if this will be improved in Windows 7, but in a future version of Advanced Installer this dialog will be editable.

Starting with the next version of Advanced Installer (which will be released soon) you can customize the related message text.
If you want to display a dialog when the uninstall process is performed, you can take a look on the Uninstalling from program and features forum thread which debates this subject.
