Report Generation about files being installed

Hello Forum,

I don't know if this feature already exists. I searched for it but couldn't find it.

It would be very nice if AI could have a "Report generation" about the files and/or components being installed within a setup. I use to write a batch file to do this since I always copied the files into the same folder of the installation project. But things are going to be more complicated and several items are distributed on my local network. Since AI already have all paths and versions inside, I think it would be a very easy to implement this feature, and at the same a be very nice and usefull one. Maybe as part of the "Project Summary" Window?

Btw, I will appreciate any workaround to do something like described above.

thanks for the quick response! no, I didn't know that. Nevertheless, it is not what I'm looking for. I don't want to show reports at installing time. What I need is the possibility to generate (at design time) a summary of all files contained within a Setup-Project (for release-history purposes).

AI already has a Project Summary:

It would be great if it could also contain "Version Information" (and maybe their paths) of files to install as well the possibility to print this out.

Hello Keneth,

For this, you can use a software versioning and revision control system to maintain current and historical versions of files. (e.g. svn, git etc).
