Issues with VM Workstation 11
I recently upgraded my VM Workstation to version 11 and ever since, Advanced Installer has been acting weird. When attempting to use the "Run in VM" or use the Repackager, the VM is started up but Advanced Installer does not seem to recognized that it has started up and then times out with an error of "Failed opening the virtual machine". What can I do to fix this? This issue happens with both 11.7.1 and 11.8.

I'm not sure why this happens. I've tested the scenario, but I cannot replicate the behavior. Can you please make sure that the snapshot of the VM that you are using has the VMWare Tools up to date and try again?
If the behavior still persists it would be very useful if you could isolate a detailed test case which can help us to replicate the behavior.
