Updater does not appear to be picking up updates text file

Hi

I have used the updater successfully for years, so this little problem that I have just encountered is really perplexing me. For some odd reason when I click on the shortcut to check for updates I am mot receiving any visible indication that the check is being made (if indeed it is being made).

I have attached my aip file for the main program just in case you can spot an obvious error on my part.

I'd also be grateful if you could remind me (for installs onto windows 10 where the shortcut for the updated should be placed so that it appears with my program in the same way as it does with yours.

Many thanks

Dom

Re: Updater does not appear to be picking up updates text file

Hello Dom,

Please note that you are passing the silent command line argument. That means the Updater will search silently for updates at the interval specified by the user. As I can see it is one day.

If the check frequency has not passed the Updater will exit immediately. If the check frequency has passed and updates are found, the updater will be launched with full UI and display them to the user. The silent switch has the purpose of hiding from the user the updater messages which inform him that we are searching for updates and that no updates have been found, which you normally see if you use the "/checknow" switch.
I'd also be grateful if you could remind me (for installs onto windows 10 where the shortcut for the updated should be placed so that it appears with my program in the same way as it does with yours.
Can you please attach a printscreen so we can have a better view about this?

Best regards,
Dan

Many Thanks Dan

Not sure how I managed that but at least I know why.

As to the second part of my question and your request for further information. The illustration below is what I have ended up with:

Whereas what I would prefer to have is what you have yourselves:
