Changing main Upgrade Code

Hi there

I'm sorry if this has come up elsewhere, but I did a quick search and there weren't any relevant posts under Feature Req. so I decided I should include this.

A.I. should include an option for you to change the upgrade code of a product. Currently I am achieving this by editing the project manually in the source file.

Thank you for your help so far and thanks once more for a good product, I enjoy using it.

No, Advanced Installer does not allow generating a new GUID for the "Upgrade Code". But why exactly you want to do this?

If you want to create a new project starting from an existing one then you can use the "File->Duplicate" main menu option. In this case a new project will be created and all GUIDs for "Upgrade Code", "Product Code", etc are changed.

Hi,

If you want to manage an upgrade then use "File->Save As" main menu option in order to create the upgrade package. After you increase the "Product Version" answer yes when AI ask you to generate a new "Product Code". Read more about changing version here:

"File->Duplicate" option is to be used only if you want to create a new project but starting from an existing one.
