Change Project Type from Enterprise to Professional?

Hi,

When we were evaluating Advanced Installer, we created an Enterprise type project (by mistake), but for the features we use, we only needed a Professional type of project. So, we decided to license Advanced Istaller Professional.

The problem is that while we were waiting to get the license number, etc. we had to distribute the initial "test" package which was done with Enterprise type of project (we didn't realize about it till now).

Now, we want to distribute an update of this package built woth our "Professional" licensed AI, but we just realized that it is not possible to "convert" the initial Enterprise project to a Professional Project.

So, I need a way/workaround/whatever which can do some of the following:

a) Convert our Enterprise .aip to a Professional .aip
b) Create a new Professional project, but that it can "act" as an update of the initial one. (I guess I would need to tweak some CSLID's).... is this possible?
c) Any other ideas?


Any help would be much appreciated to sort out this mess.

If you didn't use Enterprise features, perhaps we can convert it to Professional. Please send us the .AIP (project) file to support at advancedinstaller dot com.

Hi cosmin,

Many thanks.... finally I managed to fix the mess by editing the .aip file.
All I did was:

1) Change this Modules="professional" into the DOCUMENT tag
2) Change BuildType="0" in <ROW BuildKey="DefaultBuild" ......>

So far it's working like a charm.

I have done also a mystake by choice Entreprise for test after my test phase is over. Now I would go back to my bought Professional Version of Advanced Installer. Would you help me to get it back again?

Please send us your .AIP (project) file to support at advancedinstaller dot com, so we can try to convert it, but we cannot guarantee that the conversion will be possible.
