Protecting an installed file
I have a file that I wish to install if not present. If the file is present during an update, I do not want the installed file to be removed or changed. How do I do this. Can it be done on a "Simple" installation?

In order to achieve what you want you can take a look on our "How do I prevent a file with registry entry from being uninstalled or repaired" article. Also, please keep in mind that in order to achieve this you need at least a Professional project type.
