Problems of Enhanced UI on Win 2000

I am trying to run the installer using enhanced UI on Windows 2000 Server.
However, all buttons are missing in the installer dialog. Does it mean the enhanced UI does not support on Win 2000?

Re: Problems of Enhanced UI on Win 2000

Hello,

I'm not sure why you encountered this behavior. Using the “Enhanced User Interface” automatically enables the .EXE output. So, can you please run the .EXE and see if the behavior still persist?

The support for Windows 2000 Server hasn't been deprecated in the new version of Advanced Installer (vs 10.5.1). Also please keep in mind that the following software must be installed on your target system in order for enhanced user interface installation to run correctly:
  • Windows 2000 Service Pack 4
    Windows Installer 2.0
Let us know if that helped.

Best regards,
Dan

Thanks for your reply.
I have all the requirements you mentioned on my OS. However, the problem still exists. (Here is where I find the Windows Installer download link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=11176)
I have tested for an installer using Classic Theme and it works fine.

Just to confirm, you are running the EXE setup package generated by Advanced, not the MSI?

Yes. This is how I set the configuration.
Thank you.

Is there anything I should provide to tackle the problem?
I am frustrated by this issue for a long time.

Re: Problems of Enhanced UI on Win 2000

Hello,

First of all I apologize for my delayed answer.

I've talked about this limitation with our development team and it seems this is our default implementation. Installation packages built using the "Enhanced User Interface" feature can be installed on target machines having at least an Windows XP SP3 operating system. We apologize for this inconvenience. We will also update this information in our user guide.

Thank you for your understanding.

All the best,
Daniel
