Confusing message on changing upgrade order

Hi,

I am getting an error message that I do not understand when I choose the "Install new version first" upgrade order:
Using this type of upgrade requires that your project fulfills certain conditions. Please see the following link for details.

Upgrade Information

Your project contains some predefined Advanced Installer custom actions that are not compatible with this upgrade order.

- LZMA.
I have one custom action, calling a method in an attached C# custom actions DLL. However, removing the custom action does not remove the error. It is very important that we can use this upgrade order as this product contains a service and we need to have the logon credentials preserved during upgrade.

Re: Confusing message on changing upgrade order

Hi Ben,

Indeed, this situation is an oversight. A fix will be available in a future version of Advanced Installer, thank you for bringing it to our attention. Until then you can ignore it. There shouldn't be any problems from this side on the upgrade operation. Just make sure that the .EXE extraction path is different between the 2 versions !
By default it is:
"[AppDataFolder][|Manufacturer]\[|ProductName] [|ProductVersion]\install"

If there is anything I can help with, please let me know.

Best regards,
Dan
