Dialog Themes Not Consistent

Hi there

I have a project with 2 separate build targets. A exe which is a webinstaller, and also a full installer exe (in case people can't download and use the webinstaller)

The web installer works well, however the theme for the full install (which is the second project build) does not have the dialog theme I applied.

I am trying to use the white surface theme - but the full build is showing the black surface theme.

Anyway to resolve this without making a totally new project?

I'm not sure why you encountered this behavior.

In order to have a better view about this, can you please send us the .AIP (project file) to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate it? If it contains confidential information you can send us a small test project which reproduce this behavior.

I am trying to now build in the updates using the white surface theme of dialog boxes.

It was downloading the update ok, but getting stuck when trying to install the update.

I have isolated the problem. The white surface theme does not allow me to build an single file msi as an installer.

When I create a basic test project with the white surface theme and try to then install with it, it won't let me get past the first popup screen.

Any ideas? Is this a bug with the white surface installer?

Hi Dan

I've found a work around to my last question which was to not download the msi file which I understand now that needs the exe to manage it.

I downloaded the exe via the update instead and its working well now.

My last remaining question is in relation to the white surface theme.

"Why does it show as a black surface theme when I try to build everything into a single exe file?"

How do I stop this and ensure it stays as a white surface theme?

Hi Doc,

This is happening because you had defined different theme for each build. So, for the WebInstallerBuild you set the BlackSurface theme, while for the OfflineExe you set the WhiteSurface.

You can set the same theme for each build in the Themes page.
