Application Installer crashes and gives Stack Trace error

Hello All:

We are using Advanced Installer 7.7, Enterprise Edition

During Installation, repair or un-installation the application installer crashes and gives the Stack Trace error. This occurrence is not always but many a times observed on Windows 7 & Vista

NOTE:
1. Use Enhanced User Interface is set to ALWAYS

Attached: SP.zip (SP.aip) just in case if required
Please suggest
Thank you for your valuable time to read and think over the problem

OBSERVATION: If we set the Use Enhanced User Interface to NEVER in the task manager there is only one process that is running but when we set the Use Enhanced User Interface to ALWAYS there are 3 processes that are running in the task manager. Please suggest

Thanks,
Yogesh

Re: Application Installer crashes and gives Stack Trace erro

Hello Yogesh,

Unfortunately we are not able to open your attached .aip (project file) without its repository dependencies dialogs (HostNmAdminUserNmPWD.aip and HostNmAdminUserNmPWD_1.aip). So, can you also please send us the above repository dialogs so we can open and analyze your installation project configuration?

Also, it would be very useful if you could isolate the behavior in a buildable sample which replicates the behavior and send it us alongside a step by step test case scenario so we can test and investigate.

All the best,
Daniel

Hello Yogesh,

We have tested your scenario on several clean machines but we cannot replicate the behavior. Can you please send us a download link of your setup package alongside a detailed test case scenario to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can test and investigate? Also, it would be useful for us if you could isolate the behavior in a buildable sample and send it us so we can investigate.

All the best,
Daniel

Re: Application Installer crashes and gives Stack Trace erro

Hello Yogesh,

We have tested your sent setup package on several Windows Vista and Windows 7 machines, but we couldn't replicate the related behavior. We also run multiple "Repair" operations for your installation package and everything went well.

I'm afraid that in order to be able to further investigate this we need at least a detailed step by step test case which consistently replicates the behavior.

Also, regarding the multiple instances of the setup process you are seeing in the Task Manager window, please note this is the normal behavior. When you are building an EXE, at install time we are running multiple instances of the setup process.

All the best,
Daniel
