Desktop folder is deleted

Hi AI team,

I have an urgent issue where my complete desktop folder is deleted after uninstall. I wanted to have my desktop shortcut deleted after install but it wasn't. Then I tried to set a remove folder operation on the desktop folder.
Everythink will work fine If I install it for all users. But if I do this as for me only option my desktop folder is completely removed after uninstall.

How can I fix this?

Hello,

The default behavior of a package made with AI is to uninstal the shortcut.
The shortcut may not be deleted if other actions that change the system may use that shortcut. This can occur if you have used the same .aip file as a copy for more projects.
Starting a new project from an already existing one by saving it under a different name is not advisable, because all the GUIDs for product, components, etc. in the two projects will be identical and thus will conflict. You should use the “File > Save as Template...” option for this.

Could you please tell me if this is the case?

Also, the same problem may occur in other cases, so it is recommended that you use virtual machines for testing, so that the installation of each package will be done on a clean machine.

Hi,

I found the solution to my problem. I thought that only the shortcut will be deleted but the deinstall process tries to remove all elements based on the current logged in user.
That is not what I expected to get. I removed this action from my desktop folder and now everything works fine.
