Zip instead of 7z

Hi There,

is it possible to get a ZIP File instead of 7z?

I´m building an "exe with ressource next to it", and i would like to have the ressources as Zip and not as 7z (only because it is easyer to explain the costumer how to extract the Zip, if he doesn´t want to use the install version)

Thanks

Re: Zip instead of 7z

Hi Shuen and welcome to Advanced Installer forums,

In case of LZMA compression, all installation files and the MSI file will be packed into one archive with the .7z extension.

However, your customers does not have to do anything manually. They will just need to launch the .EXE file. The boostrapper will handle the extraction process.

Can you please tell me give me more details why would you need to ask your customers to manually extract the archive?

Best regards,
