I've failed to find the correct combination of settings to achieve this result: I want a per-user install, but the installer needs to be run by either 1) an end user with admin rights, or 2) an admin on behalf of a standard user.
#1 is easy. For #2, on a system where the standard user name is Scott, after the admin runs the installer, I want the installed files to be in this folder
C:\Users\Scott\AppData\Roaming\MyFolder\
and not in
C:\Users\AdminUser\AppData\Roaming\MyFolder\
I also want registry keys and desktop shortcuts to be created per user and not per machine.
I can make this work if I launch the installer as the standard user and then enter admin credentials when prompted. However, I cannot make it work if an admin user launches the installer with elevated privileges. I've tried "Per-user only (with administrator rights required)" with Execution level set to As Invoker, Highest Available, and Require Administrator but all of those combinations install in the admin user's locations. What am I doing wrong?
BTW, I'm using AI 12.6.1.
