Stopping services before preparing

Hi

I have a setup with 2 services which are installed bei Advanced Installer. When performing an uninstall I get the message that files are in use because the services are still running.
If I put the StopServices custom action before the preparing step I get the following error:

MSI (s) (C8:18) [14:15:13:796]: Doing action: StopServices
Action 14:15:13: StopServices. Stopping services
Action start 14:15:13: StopServices.
MSI (s) (C8:18) [14:15:13:799]: Note: 1: 2762
Error 2762. Cannot write script record. Transaction not started.
MSI (s) (C8:18) [14:15:16:369]: Product: xxx -- Error 2762. Cannot write script record. Transaction not started.

If I put custom action "Stop service" before preparing step everything works as expected.
Why doesn't this work out of the box?

Kind regards,
Michael

Hello Michael,

I'm afraid it is not clear to me when the custom action fails. Where it is scheduled your custom action when it fails? Can you send us the .AIP (project file) and a verbose log of the failing installation to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate them?

All the best,
Daniel
