Icons in AI

Hi,

I have requested a particular icon to be displayed in control panel (register with MS Installer and on a shortcut to an exe.
The exe is installed in the application folder in AI.

The exe in question does not have an icon specified in Visual Studio and was built in Visual Studio 2019.

There is a problem in that the icons specified in AI are not displayed in this case.

If I change the icon on the exe in Visual Studio project/Properties then the icon appears.

What happens in a scenario where there is no icon specified on an exe but you might want to change the icon in AI for a more customer friendly icon?

First of all, please accept my apologies for the delayed reply.

This sounds like a strange behavior, indeed,

I have tested this scenario and everything worked as expected on my machine.

I have created 2 EXE (C# Console Apps) files (with both Visual Studio 2017 and 2019) - with no icon set from Visual Studio - and installed them on a clean Virtual Machine. The icon was correctly set in both cases.

In order for me to further investigate this, could you please forward me the following resources:

- a copy of the .AIP file used to build your setup

- a download link of the setup that replicates this behavior

by e-mail at support at advancedinstaller dot com?
