How to search location for the latest program installed

Hi,

In my situation, I want the program installed side by side with 3 different locations
I know that we have the Side by Side option to do this.
For example:
- Product-Version1 (in C:\Company\Product-Version1)
- Product-Version2 (in C:\Company\Product-Version2)
- Product-Version3 (in C:\Company\Product-Version3)

However, I want to choose which version to copy all the files and folder to new install location and overwrite all the files and folder with new version.
Because older version will have all the data that new version needs to use.

I would like to create those steps:
1. Have a dialog page to choose which version location that I want to overwrite. (Or search for the Version that already installed and choose)
2. Copy all the files and folders from the version that I choose to the new install location.
3. Install the new version in.

Thank you

Re: How to search location for the latest program installed

Hello Kevin,

I'm afraid that what you want to achieve might not be possible.

By default, when installing a newer and higher version, you have two options:

1. to remove all previous versions

2. to install the new version side by side with the older ones

In your case, you want to target a specific version and only upgrade that, which is not possible (the Windows Installe Upgrades does not allow this).

If you have any other questions, please let me know and I will gladly assist.

Best regards,
