How do I add a VM (Vmware Workstation) to use for Advanced Repackager?

I would like to use Advanced repackager and vmware workstation to repackage an exe app with several updates to msi.
I have manually created a Windows 11pro VM with a local logon.
I used the edit virtual machine profiles to add the vm under VMWARE SERVERS - LOCALHOST , so it shows there.
I have My VM, "Prepare a virtual machine" and "edit virtual machine profiles"
If I use "Prepare a virtual machine", choose to prepare an existing virtual machine / VmWare workstation
Point at the VM I built with the details filled in and click Next, I get a message "VM Launcher(x64) 22.4 : The selected Virtual machine was not found on the virtualization server.

Of note, the VM has 3 snapshots, however when choosing a snapshot, "Current State" is the only option.
I have tried while Logged in to the VM and also shutdown to be sure. only one snapshot either way.

I first chose the option to create a packaging VM, but that failed - seemed to be related to hardware issues, being Windows 11, that was likely the lack of TPM as that wasn't an option during the process.

I am logged in as an admin account, running repackager elevated.
host is Win 10 24H2
vmware workstation is 17.6.3
advanced installer is v22.4
Guest packaging vm is Windows 11 Pro 24H2 updated to latest updates, then disconnected from network.
osprovision was copied to the VM and installed. ("Advanced Installer remote tools" shows in apps and features)

<< Advanced Repackager 22.4 build df43ce1d >>
Connecting to Virtualization Product
Opening Virtual Machine: "VM45515-1124AR1"
An error occurred during the repack operation !
Build finished because an error was encountered.

Hello Paul,

I'm afraid I can't say for sure why this is happening.

Please allow me a bit more time to run this by the dev team as well and I'll followup as soon as I'll have more information.

Best regards,

Hello Paul,

I wanted to followup on this to ask you if you are using an encrypted vm by any chance?

The VM is partially encrypted because it is a windows 11 VM so has a TPM and the TPM files are encrypted.

Sorry, lots going on, didn't realize I had double posted. will continue on the other one.
