set MSI file infos

Hi there,

I've got a question about the file infos/properties of a MSI generated with Advanced Installer shown on Windows XP. (For Vista it's alright).
Comments (Kommentare) can be set by "Comments" of the "Product Details Page",
theme (Thema) by "Product Name", author (Autor) perhaps by "Company Name".
But which settings have an influence on the other infos (title (Titel), category (Kategorie), keywords (Stichwörter), source (Quelle))?

Especially the Version is a mystery to me. Why is there the GUID shown and not my Version 2.0.0? How can I change that???

Many thanks in advance
Heike

Hi Heike,

The "Title" and "Keywords" fields can be set in the Summary Information in the MSI. I'm afraid that Advanced Installer uses default values for them. I'm not sure how the "Category" and "Source" fields can be set (other than manually editing them).
Especially the Version is a mystery to me. Why is there the GUID shown and not my Version 2.0.0? How can I change that???
Please note that this is actually the Revision Number and it is set to the Package Code. I'm afraid that it cannot be converted to a version (the MSI will not work).

Re: set MSI file infos

Hello Heike,

compare to any other random *.msi file downloaded from the internet, it seems to be a general "problem". (I downloaded two *.msi packages and they have the same "issues".)

With best regards
