Adding support for VirtualBox

You can run your project in a VM from within Advanced Installer.
Supported are Hyper-V and VMware.

Can you add VirtualBox to this list ?

I found the cause why i still got the Cancel button on an uninstall.
It was an "old" chained package which i did not suspect.

Hello Daniel,

Your suggestion works fine for the installation.
But when uninstalling you get the same issue again.
Still its a big step forward.
I don't know if this is standard "msi" behavior or that advanced installer can do something about this?

chained pakkages on Terminal server

installing on Terminal server with 'Control Panel --> Install Application On Remote Desktop Server' and chained pakkage in it give a message like
"Preparing for first time use" and a cancel button when the chained pakkage is installed from the main setup.
the setup seems to be waiting for ever ...

AI is revert to trail but maintenance end 2-01-2018

Today 16-10-2015 i started AI version 12.4.2 and got the message that is shown in the attachment i posted.
AI reverted to trial mode. But when look at the about box of AI out mantenance plan ends onm 2-01-2018.
and the licence type is Enterprise. So why cant i work in Entrepise mode ?

some extra info.

I removed all dll file from the AdvancedInstaller project.
Added them a gain from 1 source location by adding the source folder and checking the "install to parent folder" option.

this set of dll's is also installed in to a second folder on the Target machine also with the ...

my dll's are installed on the target machine with date and time of the moment of installation.
I want the original date and time of the dll.
How do i do that ?

I used the always overwrite existing file option.
But still i want the date and time of the source dll on the target machine.

I have two aip's
In the first i had some folders en files which where installed.
In the second i needed the same set of folders and files. So i copied them from aip 1 to aip 2.
this went all fine.
But when i run aip 2, the folders and files are not installed.
Why is this ?

Advanced Installer cannot be loaded

This morning advanced intaller notified their was a newer version.
I let it download and install it. But now i can't open my project files.
It apears that the version numbers in the project file is 8.2 but the program expects 8.1.3.

Thanks for your suggestion to look at the flag "Search the 64-bit portion of the registry".
This is off, but my registry key was in in the wrong place. :oops:

But: when the launch condition fails i still get the "0KB" message box instead of the text in the description field of the custom launch ...

Custom Launch condition does not work on Windows 7

Custom launch condition does not work on windows 7.

And on windows XP i get a message box with "0 KB" ! instead of the expected text which is entered in the discription field of the luanch condition.

This happens when the launch conditions fails and the installion should be aborted.
On windows XP ...

I did as you sugested.
But the 64 bit package added the keys in the wow6432Node.
But i want them in the normal 64 bit part of the registry.

Or should the msi be generated on a 64 bit OS ?
The machine on which i make the msi is 32 bit windows XP.
The target machine is a 64 bit windows server 2008 or ...
