Hi,

Please note the you should use a public property (all uppercase letters) instead of a private property. This is recommended because Windows Installer will not pass the value of a private property from the "InstallUISequence" (when the property is initialized) to the "InstallExecuteSequence ...

Hi,

I managed to replicate this behavior on my machine, by deleting the string from the VALUE field in the "Properties" list, for both checkboxes.

It seems that this field must contain a value, in order for the checkboxes to work properly.

Please check the state of these fields from your project ...

Hi,

Is there an event available for when the dialog loads? Or where do I need to initialize these values?

Your solution with 2 INIT Events is correct, and should set the properties only when the dialog loads.

I only want to allow exactly 1 checkbox to be checked. The radiobutton would be ...

Hi,

Unfortunately Windows Installer does not support prerequisites, therefore an .exe bootstrapper must be used.

Hi,
Please try using a custom action without an impersonation property in Execution Options group.

Let me know if using no impersonation resolves your problem.

Regards,
Ovidiu

Hi,

I see that I can control Windows Services to start them, but where does this take place in the install sequence?
You can start a service during an installation by using a service Control Operation in the "Services" page. This Control Operation is executed during the "InstallExecuteSequence ...

In order to obtain an installation that does not require user interaction, you could check the Limit to basic user interface (simple progress and error handling) checkbox in the Project Settings -> Install Parameters page of your AI project.

Hi,

Advanced Installer supports detecting the dependencies from the import table and delay import table inside an executable module (EXE, DLL etc).

If your program uses LoadLibrary calls to load additional DLLs, those will not be detected.

You can try to use the Profiling option from Dependency ...

Hi,

I am sorry but this is a limitation of Windows Installer.
You can read more about this here:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa369283(VS.85).aspx

A workaround that would solve your problem is creating a Custom Action .

Hi,

The problem is in the way you edited the File Name field for the .ini search. Windows Installer is limited to searching .ini files only in the Windows Folder.

The value of the File Name field is not of formatted type, so you should not use [WindowsFolder] here. The solution to your problem is ...

Hi,

The environment variable you created is set, but it can not be accessed by the installation.

All environment variables created during the execution of a process are available only after the process is terminated.
