[SEH_AV_READ_BADPTR] ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at address [0x00ff7f05]

I discovered the issue when our build server tried to run the following command:
Advancedinstaller.com /edit setup.aip /SetProductCode -langid 1033 -guid {0A0B3D65-C1B5-4B21-A327-37F6F18BF19F}
either in the Advanced Installer GUI, an elevated command prompt or through our CI scripting (Atlassian Bamboo, a perl script job) I get the following stack trace:
[SEH_AV_READ_BADPTR] ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at address [0x00ff7f05]

Advanced Installer 15.2 build 30c2e84376
*** Stack Trace (x86) ***

[0x00ff7f05] -----
[0x00a70000] MODULE_BASE_ADDRESS
While it builds fine from the UI, I am unable to make any changes to the .aip from within the GUI (I can edit fine from a text editor, so it's not a file permissions issue). I imagine there's a simple .aip edit I can make to fix it, but I just don't know where I'd make the change.

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<DOCUMENT Type="Advanced Installer" CreateVersion="10.6" version="15.2" Modules="enterprise" RootPath="." Language="en" Id="{20BD3185-AA45-41A0-AE61-70901C5089A6}">
....
    <ROW Property="ProductCode" Value="1033:{EDB95562-6706-45B3-B06C-5C122D75D1A5} " Type="16"/>
is the only property code row in the .aip. I tried removing the trailing space in the Value, to no avail. I've re-copied the only dialog from the repository and get the same result.

I found viewtopic.php?t=19618 which references http://www.advancedinstaller.com/forums ... med#p47883, however my symptom is different (and I'm not upgrading from an 8.x version, this project build earlier today just fine in 15.2).

Hello,

I cannot say why this happens. The related pinpointed XML content of the AIP seems to be valid.

Can you please send us the .aip (project file) to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate it? Also, please send us any project dependency referenced from your Repository.

All the best,
Daniel
