Application requires an active internet connection

Hello,

We have encountered an issue on Windows 11 Enterprise edition 24H2 version. We are currently using Advanced Installer 22.7

Some of our colleagues that upgraded from Windows 10 to 11, encounter an error message stating the Installer requires an active Internet connection.
In the Launch Conditions project tab we do not have enabled the 'Run only if an active Internet connection is found'.

What could be causing the issue? We are using some prerequisites and thought that maybe they're causing this issue, but if I create an installer without any prerequisites, the same error occurs.
I have attached a sample of the .aip project without any binaries, in case it helps.

Wow, this is really strange. Let me ask this to make sure I fully understand your scenario.

With the same AIP file file and setup, after your colleagues upgraded from Windows 10 to 11, you started to encounter this issue?

Regarding the sample AIP file, thank you for that. However, could you please also send me the Repository dialogs so I can open the AIP file on my end?

I have the exact same version of Windows on both my machine and a VM and I would like to test this on my end to see if I can reproduce this and hopefully find the culprit here.

Hi Catalin,

That's right. Once we migrated from Win 10 to Win 11 this error started to appear. What's most interesting is that it seems to happen only on the 24H2 version of Win 11. 22H2 seems to be fine and does not throw this error.

Hello Bogdan,

From what I can see in your project, you also have a "WebBuild" that will require the internet connection, because it is a web-based installer (it downloads the files for you so it is smaller in size).

Could you please confirm that this is not the one that you are launching?

From what I can see, it is exactly that one that you are launching (from the screenshot in the first thread you provided).

I have built using dummy resources and opened the other two and it says "Welcome to APOGY Canvas Setup", while in your screenshot it says "Preparing APOGY Fashion Studio Setup", which is exactly the web build.

Hi Catalin,

The application has gone through a name change, that's why the differences from the screenshot vs the installer now. The webinstaller has never been used but it remained there as an option in the .aip.
We're using the ExeBuild and ExeBuildNO3D builds. I wish the issue would've been caused by the web installer, but unfortunately that is not the case.

Thank you for your followup on this.

Quite the strange issue, I have to admit that - I really thought I got the culprit there.

With the other two builds, I'm afraid I wasn't able to reproduce this on our end.

Would you be able to provide a download link for the entire setup so I can test that directly on my end? If you do not want to disclose that here publicly, please forward me the download link via email at support at advancedinstaller dot com.

Also, are you able to consistently reproduce this issue? Or is it perhaps specific to some machines only?

I'm thinking here that maybe the issue is only on machines where we had the update, e.g. Win10 --> Win11, or if it is all Windows 11 machines (even the clean installs). We could test this via a Virtual Machine, if you have one at your disposal with Windows 11.

I've just sent you an e-mail.
The issue is constantly reproduced on all 24H2 Win11 versions.

I am not entirely sure if it matters that the machine is a clean Windows 11 or it is just an upgrade from Win 10 to Win 11.
I know for sure though, that some colleagues had the Windows 11 22H2 version before upgrading to 24H2 and that's when the error started to appear.
