Hello,
i have to gather some information while installation process, primeraly information about paths ("AppDIR", "Documents/Settings", "Roaming", well some paths which differs on XP and Windows 7 systems).
At the end of the installation i want to change some settings-files (which i provide while installtion) with the values of these paths.
What would be a good way to achieve this goal? I dont want to get a ready-to-fit solution, just maybe some useful thoughts.
At least i think i should be doing it with some kind of custom action after installation, maybe some scripting stuff?
Well, i already searched the forum, but didnt find any useful threads on the first search, maybe i did the wrong searches. Does someone have any ideas or links?

Hi,
All these are predefined folders and have associated an unique property, which resolves to the correct path, depending on the OS, here you can see their values.
If the config files is a standard XML or INI file then this is very easy, and you don't need a custom action. Simply import the file and edit it using the built-in editor
from Advanced Installer, as presented in the following article.
If the file is simple text file then you will need a custom action, next article is a similar example for what you need.
