Mac installer

Good morning,

I create installers once a year to supply two files to configure AutoCAD to use our manufacturer hatch patterns. The manufacturer now ask that the hatch be also installed on AutoCAD LT Mac OS X.

I read the help and it look like it is possible with my Version 9 Pro Version of Advanced Installer.

Can you help me or supply a tutorial, because I don't find the options described in the help.

Thank you in advance

Luc Michel

Re: Mac installer

Hello Luc Michel,

There's no tutorial because the "MAC OS X" build settings are pretty straight forward. Please have a look in the Media page.

Let us know if you have any doubts.

All the best,
Mihai

Re: Mac installer

Hello Luc Michel,

Some more insight on this feature can be found in our MAC OS X package user guide article.

You should keep in mind that the MAC OS build can be used to create setup packages only for Java applications (i.e. using the Java Products page from Advanced Installer). You cannot use it to install regular files on MAC computers, as you would do on Windows machines.

We don't have a MAC OS X tutorial, but we do have a Java Product Installation tutorial.

All the best,
Mihai

Re: Mac installer

Thank you Mihai for your help. I appreciate. One last questions about this. What software would you recommend to create an installer that would copy some files to the Mac. I guess that I could also supply the files in a compress archive and the users will have to decompress the files in the good folder of their Mac.

Luc

You're welcome Luc, glad to assist.

You can try the MAC OS X PackageMaker, but if you're looking for specialized support you should also search the Internet for related reviews.

Happy Easter !
