Why is it not possible to remove a Component on the Organization page?

My project has a component that is no longer part of the application. Why is it not possible to remove it? What am I supposed to do with it?
I apologize if this seems a silly question. I'm just maintaining an AI project and I'm unfamiliar with AI. I've just reviewed the documentation.

Hello and welcome to our forums,
Thank you for your interest in Advanced Installer.
A component in the Organization page is related to a resource (file, folder, registry key or value).
If you do not need a component any more, you will have to move all its resources under another (new or old) component.
The empty component will be automatically deleted from the Organization page when it will be empty.
If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to ask.
