Uninstallation problem with multiple products

Hello,

I ran into problem after installing multiple products/projects.

Uninstallation runs smooth when I have one product installed. When I have mutiple product, it does remove the files and registry entries but fails to remove the entry from the program list (in control panel).

Say if I have products p1 and p2 installed at the same time, uninstalling p1 leaves its entry in programs list. I can remove it if I uninstall p2 and install p1 and uninstall p1 again, which is quite annoying.

I have made sure I have diferent product code and Upgrade code for both p1 and p2.

Tried enabling verbose logging but had no luck in tracking the issue.

I didn't change company name and product version, they are as it is.

Please let me know where I might be going wrong. Looking forward to hear back.

Re: Uninstallation problem with multiple products

Hello,

This may happen if you have manually copy pasted one of the AIP (project file) of the first product to create the setup project the second product. Please note this is a wrong practice and completely not recommended. If you want to create another setup project from an existing working project, then you should use our "Save as template" option.

Let us know if this helped, otherwise please send us the AIPs (project files) of p1 and p2 to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate their settings.

All the best,
Daniel
