Re: Failed to register a file (.OCX)

Hello Pradeep,

Most probably the related error is thrown by your COM file. Can you please try to manually (outside of Advanced Installer) register your COM file and see if everything works?

Please note that you should make sure all of your COM dependencies are already installed and available on your build machine when you enable the "Extract registration info from native library" option on your COM file.

Let us know if this helped.

All the best,
Daniel

hi team,

am able to register the file (.ocx) manually. i found there is a problem with UAC or the .ocx may have some dependencies to register from the tool (Advanced installer). Please provide the resolution to overcome this issue.

Re: Failed to register a file (.OCX)

Hello Pradeep,

Can you please send us a download link for the related OCX file to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can test and investigate it on our side? Also, please let us know which OS version are you using on your build machine (where you use Advanced Installer).

For testing purposes, can you please open the Advanced Installer application using the "Run as administrator" context menu option, and then try to enable again the "Extract registration info from native library" registration option for your OCX file and see if this helps?

All the best,
Daniel
