Product Name not changing for Multiple Instance's Upgrade Version

Hi,

My installer is used to install Multiple instances of application in a server. It has no problem when I install new instance with the same build or version number. Whatever new instance name I'm providing, it exactly replaces in the path as well as Product Name. But when I re-build the installer with next version number for upgrade and try to install new instance directly, it does not take the New Instance Name. Instead it uses the default Product Name. Even if I change the path manually, the product name still takes the default name, which is causing lots of confusion. I have attached the AIP file.

I need to achieve "Product Name and Path must be resolved properly for any new Instances". Kindly advise what I'm missing.

Hi,

Indeed, the dialog that shows the instances is buggy, so we will fix it in a future version of Advanced Installer. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Normally, the default instance (which name cannot be changed) should always be upgraded to the latest version. Actually, the instance which name is not updated as you expect, is the default instance and the different versions that have the same name (in your screenshot) are pointing to the same instance (default instance).

Meanwhile, the normal approach, when you upgrade to a new version, is to first upgrade the default instance by using the "Maintain or upgrade an already installed instance" option and only after this add a new instance which will accept a new name.

Hi Dan,

I have upgraded to version 13.5 and tested this scenario. I found the New Instance Name is replacing properly but the new instance name is not replaced in the file path. Please advise.
