Advanced Installer floating licence server stopping every day

Hello,

We have been using the Advanced Installer floating licence server running on a windows machine successfully for several years to licence Advanced Installer for our build environments.

This has run perfectly until last weekend when the floating licence server Windows Service stopped. Since then the the service has stopped every day.

I have looked in the event log (Application and System) but the only logging I see is the Windows Service stopping in the System log.
The Advanced Installer 13.1 License Service service entered the stopped state.
There is no other logging.

So the question is why has this suddenly started happening?

Nothing changed in the machine running the floating licence server Windows Service and no updates were applied. So we do not believe it is related to factors on our end.

Your help would be appreciated.

Hello Duncan and welcome to our forums,

This could have happened if the license registered on your server machine became invalid. This usually happens when the machine hardware configuration changes or when a major Windows update is installed.

Can you please register once more your Floating License Server using your license key and see if this behavior still persists?

I reinstalled the floating licence server and at the same time updated it to the latest 14.9 release.

It stopped again yesterday.

The message reported in the event log is
Http server failed with error code: 1229.
The service stopped immediately after that message was logged.

Any ideas?

The windows service stopped again yesterday at 18:02:35 BST with the same error.

No build was running at the time and we believe that nothing was connected to the service.

This is becoming problematic for us as we are having to ensure that the service is running before we can start builds. We need a resolution for this.

Did exactly the same thing yesterday again.

I have emailed your support email address to try to get this addressed as nothing has been offered here other than a reinstall which has not worked.
