Can't run a built insaller

According to event viewer, msiexec.exe is crashing. I've tried repair the insaller from the web. Running the installer with a log produces:

Re: Updater issues

The update text file had an ID and I searched the registry for it and found it in the Current User subkey and was excpecting all users.

Do not have a screenshot readily available.

However, Setup program should be in an E-mail.

Updater issues

1. If we use the updater it fails. It downloads the new setup EXE and runs it. From what I saw during the install most, if not all, of the files were put down. But, at the end it pops a message saying one or more components failed to install. According to Event viewer, the install goes fine without ...

Updater always updating but fails.

When we use the updater, even though the current version is installed, it says there are updates available. If it downloads it and then starts the install, it says the Installation Failed. I do not appear to have this issue with other projects, this one is a 64-bit only project. I attached both the ...

Re: 64-bit registatation dll

Thank you for thre reply. I tried what you wanted and it had no issue. So, I enabled verbose logging and was able to see the problem. There are two DLLs in the project that register the same COM classes, the second is a more secure version, but the version I have doesn't work (working with the ...

64-bit registatation dll

I have a COM DLL in my project that I enabled self-registration. However, it doesn't seem to register one installed. I can manually register it with regsvr32. The DLL is 64-bit. What do I need to change to get it to work? I attached the AIP file.

Internet required to install?

I must be missing something. When I install my product it says Internet is required. All my prerequisites are local files. Any suggestions? I attached the AIP file also.

Updater says it has updates but install fails.

The updater returns that there are updates, but when the install starts it says there is a version of the product already installed. Recently set the fourth part of the version to match the main app EXE's. This means different builds have a different version number. I suspect the error is coming ...

Re: NetInstaller class custom action

That helped. Be nice if you could rename those actions so it is obvious which is the install vs. the uninstall.

Re: Determine location of installed prerequisite

Thank you. However, I put the search result as the command line to a batch file using the "Launch File" action. If I put the parameter in double quotes (i.e. "[TOMCAT]"), the batch file does not seem to run. If I do not quote it, I get "C:\program" in the batch file. What is the proper way to pass a ...
