Windows 7 Deprecation Announcement

Written by Alexandra Stoienescu · September 6th, 2024 · 2min read

With the release of Advanced Installer version 22.0, our software can no longer be installed on Windows 7.

While this marks the end of support for Windows 7 as a platform for running Advanced Installer, you can still build setup packages that remain fully compatible with Windows 7.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Advanced Installer 22.0 is the last version that can be installed on Windows 7. You can keep using version 22.0 on Windows 7, but future updates will not support installation on this operating system.
  • Even after version 22.0, you can still create setup packages for Windows 7. While Advanced Installer itself won’t run on Windows 7, the setup packages you create will continue to be compatible with it.
  • We will continue to support and fix bugs related to setup packages for Windows 7, but we will no longer fix issues within the Advanced Installer application for this OS.
  • In case you need to reinstall an older version of Advanced Installer, you can download version 22.0 or earlier from the customer information page after entering your license key.
